It is an honor to serve families in the greater Charlotte area as they navigate the journey of pregnancy and parenthood. I come alongside them to help instill confidence, reduce fear, and unlock the inner strength they already have inside of them. I believe birth is a holy and sacred event, and I take no invitation into that space lightly. Access my lending library of books and videos about pregnancy, birth and baby care to support your learning. I have served as a doula and birth advocate for family and close friends since 2006.

"Perhaps You Were Created For Such A Time As This."

The experience let me know that doulas were needed as advocates for families, to educate them in knowing you have a voice and a choice in how you will deliver your baby. My son and I suffered greatly which caused him to have growth delays and a long stay in the NICU. If only I had a doula to speak and guide me through my birth process early we may not have encountered that bad experience. Your Birth Helper is comprised of a team of doulas that helps couples physically and mentally prepare their minds and bodies to give birth in the safest manner possible. Combining the best of normality with medically-necessary interventions, the doulas help enhance couples’ relationships while helping them experience the safest, most joyful birth possible. Your Birth Helper’s team is committed to serving clients who desire to educate, train, and properly prepare for low-intervention natural childbirth, but it’s also skilled in navigating variations and complications in any form of birth.

We don’t leave any part of care out of scope (education, nutrition, bodily mechanics) — we treat you as a WHOLE person. We believe in “continuity of care” and don’t commonly reassign doulas (unless requested by our client). I support families during the transitional period after birth/ upon returning home with a newborn. I’m here to teach you all you need to know about your new little one, help take some day to day tasks off your to-do list or simply care for baby while you get some much needed rest! We will talk about your goals and concerns to develop a postpartum plan unique for you. The first birth I ever witnessed was in 2000 at the age of 13 and I was hooked!

I endlessly researched and sought out content from podcasts, books, documentaries, groups, and mothers in my life. At 31 weeks I was hospitalized due to an ovarian cyst - I was so overcome with pain that I let the doctors and nurses make decisions without even asking any questions. During this stay I had a doctor say to me, "if you can't handle this you will never be able to handle birth". Unfortunately during that time in the world only my partner was allowed in the delivery room. Even with the best intentions and preparation we were both out of our depths once labor hit. My second birth was an entirely different experience because of being able to choose to have additional support people and the experience of a doula.

My peaceful, compassionate nature is met with a strong intuition and advocacy that comes from over ten years of experience as a nurse. Labor is a monumental experience in a woman's life and my role is to encourage and support you in having the birth you desire. Even if you think you’re going to have any easy birth or this is not your first, you will never regret hiring Collin to be your doula. I will be forever grateful to Collin for providing us with such amazing love and support. Whether in nature, in a cozy dark bedroom, in the water, home or birth center, you deserve a doula by your side, helping you through every stage. Uptown Doula has developed and oversees an inclusive, engaging online support community specifically designed for new and expectant parents, as well as their families.

These doulas have been recommended to be included on this list. Interview your doula and do your homework to find the best fit for your birth philosophy about pregnancy and childbirth. I’m Jessica, a fertility coach, prenatal and birth doula, and a 200-hr RYT, perinatal yoga instructor, fertility coach, and postpartum doula. My name is Debbie, mom to 5 adult children, and an ever increasing number of precious grand kids. When I discovered what a doula is, I knew I had found my lifelong calling.

This gives you the peace of mind knowing that it is highly likely that someone who you’ve developed a relationship with (rather than a back-up) will support you and is familiar with your birthing preferences. Uptown Doula was founded based on one woman’s understanding that every family and birth journey is unique, one that should be recognized and even celebrated. Through education and support, birth doesn’t have to be traumatic but can be a beautifully transformative experience for every member of the family. Learn more about our company’s history, mission and values. We hope to be able to support you with all the questions you may have, whether you are a first-time overwhelmed pregnant family, or parents of multiple children looking for more support with your next baby. As your doula our role is to support you throughout your pregnancy, birth, and into postpartum!

Wild Mother Path is a doula agency focused on women in their postpartum period so that they thrive and step into motherhood with confidence. Your postpartum should be a time of bliss where you can focus all your attention and energy on bonding with your new baby. I was born in sunny Florida and raised in the wonderful state of North Carolina. As a 10 year military spouse I've moved many, many times and am thrilled to have landed back at home in North Carolina. My family includes my husband of over 20 wonderful years and our four amazing children. We live right outside of Charlotte in Midland, NC and love being out of the busy-ness of the city but close enough to the city to do the cool stuff.
