My son and I suffered greatly which caused him to have growth delays and a long stay in the NICU. If only I had a doula to speak and guide me through my birth process early we may not have encountered that bad experience. We don’t leave any part of care out of scope (education, nutrition, bodily mechanics) — we treat you as a WHOLE person. We believe in “continuity of care” and don’t commonly reassign doulas (unless requested by our client). I support families during the transitional period after birth/ upon returning home with a newborn. I’m here to teach you all you need to know about your new little one, help take some day to day tasks off your to-do list or simply care for baby while you get some much needed rest! We will talk about your goals and concerns to develop a postpartum plan unique for you. The first birth I ever witnessed was in 2000 at the age of 13 and I was hooked!

I endlessly researched and sought out content from podcasts, books, documentaries, groups, and mothers in my life. At 31 weeks I was hospitalized due to an ovarian cyst - I was so overcome with pain that I let the doctors and nurses make decisions without even asking any questions. During this stay I had a doctor say to me, "if you can't handle this you will never be able to handle birth". Unfortunately during that time in the world only my partner was allowed in the delivery room. Even with the best intentions and preparation we were both out of our depths once labor hit. My second birth was an entirely different experience because of being able to choose to have additional support people and the experience of a doula.
